The GAO Employees Organization is seeking comments about GAO management's proposed changes to its order establishing GAO's policies for debt collection (0254.1) from GAO employees and others. This GAO policy is used, for example, to collect debts from former employees who participated in the Student Loan Repayment Program but who depart GAO before their 3-year commitment ends.

GAO management is changing language to conform with legal changes (such as referring debts to the U.S. Treasury after 120 days instead of 180), among other things.

We invite you to comment on the changes (shown in yellow highlight) in the document version linked here. We are collecting your comments through close of business Eastern time on October 4, 2016.
